How It Works
HIPAA Secure Messaging allows user to safely send email so the email messages are HIPPA, GLBA, and/or SOX compliant.
Our system automatically screens any outbound email for the words secure_message and rather than send the email in clear text over the Internet,
the message is queued in a secure server and read by the recipient via an https (Secure Sockets Layer Encrypted) connection!
1. It is very simple to send a secure message. First, login to the email client using Outlook, or WebMail using
OWA here: https://mail.securembox.com
Compose a new message. Type or copy and paste the message into the composition window. Attach any documents or images that need to be sent securely.
In the body of the email insert the following text in any location “secure_message” (omit quotations) perhaps configured in the signature block. The email can
be sent from Outlook, Outlook Web Access, and Mobile Devices that support RPC over HTTPS.
2. When the recipient receives the email notification; the user has the option to view the message in a web browser on an
secure encrypted page. In order to do so, the recipient must click “View Message” in the E-mail.
3. The user’s web browser is directed to a web page that prompts the user for password in order to view the secure encrypted email message.
If this is the first time the recipient has received a secure message they will need to complete the following account information to be able to view the message:

c. *New Password
d. *Re-Enter Password
e. Password Hint Phrase
* Denotes a required field
Once the recipient of the secure message is logged in the user has instant access to the page where the message
can be viewed. The user can reply or forward the message to any email address.
